Behind the Scenes of National Signing Day 2017: Ben Adler

A look at the three star OL commit from Wichita, Kansas in preparation for National Signing Day

Looking back on last year, it is obvious Ben Adler stayed busy with his various interests and athletic talents. Somewhere in the mix of it all, a moment that most athletes can only dream about came to life for Adler and his family. Seeing the impressive offer letter with the familiar Coach Snyder signature at the bottom was enough for me to get goosebumps, see it for yourself and maybe you will agree.

Ben Adler’s full scholarship offer letter

Before the full scholarship letter was posted on Adler’s Twitter account in August, there was plenty of hard work pouring into Adler’s all around athletic talent on and off the field. Between fighting off stray cats, attending the Oklahoma State spring game, attending the 2016 Rivals Camp Series with fellow Kansas State commits, winning back to back championships in summer baseball with the Wichita Sluggers and the list goes on and on. There is certainly a trend of commitment to hard work and staying active all year round with Adler, a trait that will certainly flourish with Coach Snyder’s program. In fact, here is a look at Adler’s highlight reel.

If Adler’s highlight reel wasn’t enough to get you pumped for this talented young man to join K-State’s solid offensive line... maybe the hashtag #spicyboyz and his domination of the Blazin’ Challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings will prove his mental and physical toughness. In case you are wondering, basing athletic prowess around the ability to eat spicy foods and live to tell the story is going to be my new angle from here on out.

Winning the Blazin’ Challenge was just the beginning of a great season for Adler, not limited to just football. Being a three sport athlete is a serious dedication of time, energy and more importantly... hard work. Playing on the offensive line in football, first base in baseball and center in basketball is not to be taken lightly. Another great part about Adler’s diversity in football is his experience at tight end and outside linebacker on top of his OL talents.

Essentially, Adler is the complete package of what you want in a starting offensive lineman. Powerful, agile, incredibly tough and uses #spicyboyz in his Twitter bio. Don’t let me continue to be in awe of his wing eating skills, check out the quick interview I did with Adler about his commitment to Kansas State below!

Gracey Terrill: With the success of the 2016 Kansas State team, how are you feeling going into the 2017 season?

Ben Adler: I'm very excited for the upcoming season. After the success they had last year and being a very young team they have a good chance of being a very special team in 2017.

GT: The excitement throughout the K-State fan base for the 2017 season is already building and the season is so far away, what are you looking forward to most about playing for K-State?

BA: I'm excited to get up to Manhattan and be coached by some of the best coaches in the country and play in front of the best fan base in the country.

GT: One last question, if you could share one reason that you are excited to be part of the K-State family with other recruits… what would it be?

BA: I would tell them that there are not many places like K-State in the country. You won't see another college that has the fan base, coaches, and players that KSU has. They are supportive, and Manhattan is a very special place and I'm ready to be a wildcat! #EMAW

Looking forward to seeing this vastly talented young man join the K-State #Family!
