Three star PG Barry Brown from Gibbs high school in St. Petersburg, FL committed to Kansas State late Wednesday night via Twitter.
My recruitment is over I have officially committed to KANSAS STATE
— Barry Brown (@barrybrown_05) August 28, 2014
Rated a three star by Rivals.com, Brown held offers from a large number of schools, most notably Houston, Texas A&M, and Wichita St.
Last season Brown, a 6'3" 170 lbs point guard became the leader for Gibbs, leading them to a regional semi-finals appearance last season.
During his junior season Brown averaged 20.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.2 steals, per game. His biggest area for improvement will be in his assists to turnover ratio. He averaged 2.9 assists per game compared to 2 turnovers per game. He has seen steady improvement in his free throw percentage each season going from 60% is freshman year to 68% last season.*
This is a solid pick up for Bruce Weber and Co., as Brown joins Power Forward Eric Cobb, also a three star from Potter's House in Jacksonville, FL, as the second commitment of the 2015 recruiting class.
