BIG 12 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Sat, Mar 5, 2016
Chesapeake Energy Arena (18,203)
Oklahoma City OK
8:30 PM CT
(6) Kansas State
(18-11, 8-10 Big 12)
at (3) West Virginia
(23-8, 12-6 Big 12)

This game probably means little. K-State is comfortably in the NCAA field according to ESPN's Charlie Creme, and a loss to the 22nd-ranked team in the country probably isn't going to change that. But a win would be a good launching pad for a post-season run -- and, more importantly, might help push the Wildcats off that 8-9 line. If there's one thing you want nothing to do with in the NCAA women's basketball tournament, it's a second-round game against a #1 seed.

That's something, right?

The game: Kansas State takes on the West Virginia Mountaineers in the final quarterfinal of the 2016 Big 12 women's basketball tournament. The Cats lost both meetings this year, and they have a dismal all-time record against West Virginia: 1-7. For his part, Jeff Mittie is 1-9 against the Mountaineers.
