Kansas State became one deeper around the basket Thursday morning.
The Wildcats announced they signed Patrick Muldoon, 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Basehor, as a walk-on. Muldoon, previously a forward at Eastern Illinois, will have two years of eligibility. Per NCAA regulations, he must sit out the 2017-18 season and will begin playing in 2018-19.
He is immediately eligible to begin practicing with the team.
“We are excited to have Patrick join our program,” K-State coach Bruce Weber said. “We have been fortunate over the years to have some really quality walk-ons, players like Brian Rohleder, Austin Budke and Zach Winter, and Patrick certainly brings those qualities to our team. He has Division-I experience, having played quality minutes the last two seasons at Eastern Illinois, and is an excellent student who wants to pursue an engineering degree.”
In 2016-17, Muldoon averaged 5.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for Eastern Illinois. He started 10 of the 29 games he played, notching his lone collegiate double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Austin Peay.
Muldoon now becomes the sixth newcomer to K-State for 2017-18.
