There's one certainty tonight: we're going to be angry, frustrated, and I'll be assiduously avoiding the game thread because I know the referee talk will make my head explode. Mostly because against Kansas, everyone's complaints are probably valid.
The Opposition
The Opposition
So the big question tonight will be just how much attention Bill Self decides to pay to Marcus Foster after he took Texas to the woodshed. Can K-State maintain the momentum and pull off what, even at home, would be a massive upset? We'll see. Tonight's game is a major, high-profile event, as you'll see below. A surprise win would launch K-State into the national consciousness.
The game: Kansas State (16-7, 6-4) hosts Kansas (18-5, 9-1, 8/9). Kansas leads the series 187-91, 84-35 in Manhattan. Bill Self is 19-3 against K-State, and 6-1 against the man who replaced him at Illinois. Bruce Weber has yet to beat Kansas in five tries.
Odds: The Jayhawks are -- surprisingly -- only a 3.5 point favorite.
Tipoff: 8pm CT at Bramlage Coliseum (12,528) in Manhattan, Kansas.
Tickets: $125. WOW.
Television: ESPN, with Brent Musburger, Fran Fraschilla, and Holly Rowe.
Radio: K-State Sports Network (also Sirius 91/XM 91), with Wyatt Thompson and Stan Weber. ALSO, the game will air nationally on the WestwoodOne Radio Network, with Dave Bontadelli and Mike Wozniak on the call.
Online: Video streaming via ESPN3, Audio streaming via K-State All-Access, live stats via Gametracker.
The women are off tonight, and play Texas tomorrow at Bramlage, so there's no conflicts today.
