As if this morning’s bombshell wasn’t enough for K-State fans to take in, ESPN’s Jake Trotter has now lobbed another explosive device over the transom:
Kansas State and Missouri have agreed to a home-and-home in 2022 and 2023, a source told https://t.co/4CcWiLBuIj. The Tigers will go to Manhattan in 2022, and K-State will return the trip to Columbia the following year. Conference rivals for decades... https://t.co/KwvnaeoMZl

That’s right, the UNHOLY ALLIANCE is back. For some, this is a good thing; for others, they’d rather never see Missouri again.
Prior to this announcement, K-State had a non-conference game against a Power 5 team scheduled every year all the way through 2031 with the exception of 2022 and 2023. This announcement, once confirmed, will fill that gap. The future Power 5 opponents:
- 2018 vs Mississippi State Bulldogs
- 2019 at Mississippi State
- 2020 vs Stanford
- 2021 vs Vanderbilt
- 2022 vs Missouri
- 2023 at Missouri
- 2024 vs Arizona
- 2025 at Arizona
- 2026 vs Washington State
- 2027 at Colorado
- 2028 vs Colorado
- 2029 at Washington State
- 2030 vs Rutgers
- 2031 at Rutgers
For those of you who were hoping to complete the Power 5 Conference Collector’s Set by scoring a couple of those rare ACC cards, you’ll just have to wait 15 years or more. We’re sorry.
UPDATE: It is official, having been announced by the athletic department. The game in Manhattan will take place on September 10, 2022; the return trip to Columbia will be played on September 16, 2023.
