A SNAFU with the publishing software made us late, so let’s not dilly-dally.
Basketball
It’s May 4th, so naturally the quirky forces of the universe want us to talk about winter sports, such as bouncyhoops.
The big news comes from the women’s side of the practice facility. Jeff Mittie has landed the services of two-time NJCAA National Player of the Year Rebeka Dallinger for the 2021 recruiting class. The Australian guard averaged 25.8 points per game and shot 43.9% from three-point range at Miles Community College in Montana, leading NJCAA Division I in scoring. The infusion of offense should provide the Wildcat women with needed scoring punch after Christianna Carr announced her intention to transfer.
The men also made some headlines, as Bruce Weber has lots of positive vibes about his newly constructed roster as they put in offseason work.
Meanwhile, Illinois is seeking a couple of assistant basketball coaches, and at least one prognosticator has a familiar name at the top of his wish list.
Baseball
K-State senior Chris Ceballos, who hit .538, smacked home runs in four consecutive games, and posted an OPS of 1.615 against Missouri and Texas Southern was named Big 12 Player of the Week yesterday. Like, duh.
And, that’s it. May the Death Star never hover on your horizon.
