SLATE: Darren Sproles: Bobblehead

New, 20 comments
Kansas State Wildcats v Missouri Tigers
Don’t know about making heads bobble, but Darren Sproles sure could tax the ankles of the opposition.

Today’s vocabulary word: Dearth. As in, “There is a dearth of K-State sports news to share with you this morning.” So scarce is the news, in fact, that we’re going to steal a story from ol’ Mizzou to kick things off.

The Tigers, of course, reached into the transfer portal to secure the services of former Wildcat swingman DaJuan Gordon. The Missourian believes his Chicago-bred hardnosed mentality will fit well in the Cuonzo Martin system.

After a disappointing road trip to Austin over the weekend, the BatCats settle in for a 12-game homestand, beginning with a two-game series against Northern Colorado tonight and tomorrow.

Women’s golfer Niamh McSherry tied for fifth at 1-under part 215, but the Wildcat squad overall dropped four places on the final day to finish 8th at the Championship Golf Course at the University of New Mexico.

Kellis Robinett looked at a handful of transfer possibilities on the football team, including a couple of players from the Texas Longhorns. One of those potential transfers, junior linebacker Juan Mitchell, actually led the Longhorns in tackles last season.

It’s a long, long overdue honor. But Darren Sproles will finally be immortalized in bobblehead form. You can get yours free of charge. All you have to do is order or renew season football tickets. (But other than that, FREE!)

It is Every Day Should be Saturday charity bowl season. K-State fans have traditionally outpunched their weight class in the event, which benefits New American Pathways, an Atlanta nonprofit that provides assistance to new Americans in metro Atlanta. Here is the link to donate: https://app.mobilecause.com/e/BzZbrQ?vid=i2wq5. Current standings show us in 15th place, but behind, of all institutions, Washington & Lee. Be better than this, Cat fans.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
