ICYMI...
The latest edition of the Big 12 Power Rankings are out, courtesy of Luke Thompson. A win over Oklahoma allowed Kansas State to climb a bit, but not too much, because c’mon.
Baseball
Kansas State plays its first home games of the season this weekend. The BatCats will take on Western Michigan in a three-game series that begins at 3 PM today at Tointon Family Stadium.
Jordan Wicks, NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week, will take the mound first for the BatCats.
Basketball
Both basketball teams are in action this weekend, and for a change, they’re both coming off much-needed (and somewhat unexpected) victories.
The men will hit the road to take on #10/#13 West Virginia on Saturday at 3 PM CT. You can catch the action live on ESPN2.
The Wildcat women will also be on the road. They play #7/#7 Baylor on Saturday morning. Tip-off is scheduled for 11 AM and the game will be on Big 12 Now on the ESPN+ platform.
Golf
The women’s golf team is in Tallahassee this weekend for the Florida State Match-Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club. The Wildcats have been practicing on an indoor putting green, but this will be their first spring action since February 2020, and the course has been redesigned since Kansas State last played there in 2016.
Play is under way, and Reid Isaac is currently low Wildcat. She’s even through nine holes and tied for 13th place.
Track
The entire track and field contingent is in Lubbock this weekend for the Big 12 Indoor Championships. This was the last event the team competed in last year before the pandemic cancelled the rest of the 2020 season.
The multi-event athletes are competing first. Currently, in the women’s pentathlon, Wildcats Urte Bacianskaite and Regan Dineen are in 4th and 5th place respectively, after two events. For the men, Matas Adamonis is in 10th place after two events in the heptathlon.
Have a good weekend, all!
