Basketball
It was posted yesterday, but it bears repeating: the Kansas State women’s basketball team tips off their 2021-22 season tonight with a 6:30pm CT contest against Central Arkansas from Bramlage Coliseum. The game will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Brain Smoller (play-by-play), Missy Heidrick (analyst), and Kelsey Bigelow (sideline) on the call. It can also be heard on parts of the K-State Sports Network (and streaming online at kstatesports.com) with Matt Walters (play-by-play) and Kristin Waller (analyst) on the call. The Wildcats are 3-0 all-time against Central Arkansas, with their last win comng in Conway, AR on Dec. 5th of last year. The Wildcats are also 7-0 against teams from the Atlantic Sun Conference.
K-State star forward Ayoka Lee has been named to the 2022 Wooden Award Watch List this morning, marking the second straight year that the junior has been on the watch list for the prestigious award. Earlier in the preseason, Lee was named as a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, and was also named to the 2022 Lisa Leslie Award Watch List.
Football
Game time for the last home K-State game (against Baylor on Nov. 20th) has been set, and it’s a bit off an odd 4:30pm CT kickoff on FS1. Apparently the desire by Fox Sports to put a UConn basketball game at 11am instead of a normal football game pushed the two football games on the schedule back a couple hours. Gee, thanks.
