Basketball
There’s a basketball game tonight, if you dare to watch it. The Wildcats are in Waco to take on the Bears, and it will very likely be a slaughter. Odds Shark currently has Baylor as a 26-point favorite (which is even up from yesterday), and it’s still very likely Baylor will cover. So, yeah...
Game starts just after 8pm and will be on ESPN2. We will have an open game thread tonight for all you masochists to commiserate during a hopefully less than completely brutal loss.
Since Bruce Weber was unable to fill the remaining scholarship spot with a transfer or early-enrolee, Joe Petrakis, a life-long K-State fan, has been elevated from walk-on to scholarship status for the spring semester. The very specific mention of the spring semester by Weber likely means that the RS sophomore likely will not be able to retain that scholarship next season, but even one free semester is a decent reward for Joe’s hard work.
Football
K-State football announced some good news yesterday, introducing the five newest Wildcats. The five D1 transfers are on campus for the spring semester and will be able to participate in spring practice. Also, thanks to the current NCAA waiver, all will be eligible for the 2021 football season, though it really only affects Julius Brents, DB from Iowa, the lone non-grad transfer. The other four are grad transfers: Eric Munoz, LB from Utah State; Timmy Horne, DT from Charlotte; Russ Yeast, DB from Louisville; and Daniel Imatorbhebhe, TE from USC/Illinois. Imatorbhebhe (pronounced “ee-MAT-or-bay-bay”) is the only one you haven’t heard about yet, and got enrolled in time to start classes this semester.
