Slate: New Kickoff Time Announced

The season opener is getting moved up, both in time and on your TV dial.

NCAA Football: Oklahoma at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

Football, football, football. It’s like the first game is just a few days away (COVID permitting, of course).

We got some important news that broke late yesterday, that due to the postponement of the Lousiana Tech at Baylor game, your Kansas State Wildcats will open the season at 11am CDT against the Arkansas State Red Wolves, and the game is being moved from FS1 to big FOX to become the main game for Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff show. It’s definitely out of the ordinary to have a game time changed so close to gameday, but unless you’ve been living under a rock, 2020 has been anything but ordinary. Go Cats!

It’s game week, so that means Tuesday was press conference day. Coach Klieman, along with Skylar Thompson, Harry Trotter, Wyatt Hubert, and Justin Hughes met with reporters, via Zoom, as the Wildcats get prepared for Saturday’s opener. Klieman discussed the newly-released depth chart and roster, and also talked about considerations related to COVID, like what’s most important for the team to keep playing, and what happens if he (or another staff member) tests positive.

There’s also a flurry of activity here at BotC. Since yesterday’s Slate, BracketCat dropped three more player profiles (with at least a three more later today: Malik Knowles, Jarius Kennedy, and Terrence Collins. We also got you caught up on the special teams unit, and a preview of the running backs drops later this morning, and a look at fullbacks and tight ends comes later this afternoon.
