Not much news to report today, which is why we’re late; we were hoping something might percolate this morning. Instead, we got a couple of fluff pieces, one minor piece of news, and the usual Corona update.

The news:

Isaiah Zuber has been released by the Patriots, the team reported on its own website.

The fluff:

At the Star, Blair Kerkhoff and Pete Grathoff are counting down the greatest Kansas City athletes to wear every uniform number. We wonder where they got that idea. Of course, they dumped 50 uniform numbers into one article, so you can guess how much time they spent writing about each one. Guys who made the cut from 99-50: Gary Spani, Ryan Lilja, Kevin Lockett, and the misidentified-as-Kevin Tyler Lockett.

In today’s Sports Extra, Austin Siegel reports on JUCO transfer Rudi Williams.

The Collegian’s Glenn Kinly reports on the wide receivers coach at Jenks (Okla.) High School, some guy named Tramaine Thompson.

M-m-m-my Corona:

SI’s Pat Forde examines just what the ACC, Big 12, and SEC are up to in terms of scheduling as the clock is rapidly running out on getting an actual plan in place.

Bob Bowlsby says that even if there’s a season, we should “expect disruptions.” You know, like MLB already canceling games because the Marlins have become a festering petri dish.

Our stuff:

Yesterday, wildcat00 launched a new series highlighting Kansas State athletes from each county in the Sunflower State.

BracketCat brings you #40 in the annual countdown, defensive end Spencer Trussell.
