Happy Holidays!

With Kansas State opting out of bowl competition, there is not much football news to share. But some Wildcats are still in the news, winning post-season awards and honors.

Chief among them is freshman running back Deuce Vaughn, who is now a semifinalist for the FWAA Freshman of the Year honors, one of only three true freshmen on the list. Vaughn is already Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-Big 12 performer. He was also named a First Team Freshman All-American by The Athletic.

Defensive end Wyatt Hubert was named to the AP All Big 12 First Team. Hubert is only the third Wildcat since 2013 to win AP honors, along with Tyler Lockett (2013, 2014) and D.J. Reed (2017). Also, Vaughn and defensive tackle Drew Wiley were named to the AP All Big 12 Second Team.

Meanwhile, on the basketball court, one former Wildcat took the court in the NBA on Wednesday night. For the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dean Wade came off the bench to contribute in a victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Meanwhile, Wes Iwundu (Mavericks) and Rodney McGruder (Pistons) did not play in their respective teams’ losses but are expected to contribute over the course of the season.

Finally, for your holiday listening needs, don’t forget to check out the latest episode of Bring on the PodCats with Luke Thompson and TB having a chat with BotC favorite Nick Leckey.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a fabulous weekend!
