Kansas State will take on West Virginia at Milan Puskar Stadium today, with kickoff scheduled for 11 AM. The game will air on ESPN2, as per the handy How to Watch post.
The Wildcats are on a 4-game winning streak and on top of the current Big 12 standings. But Kansas State has also lost four consecutive games to the Mountaineers, and today’s game will be a particular challenge for the team in purple. For one, the ‘Eers have the Big 12’s best defense (in all categories), and for another, quarterback Jarret Doege and running back Leddie Brown are both playing well enough to be in the top half of the statistical leaders in the conference—Doege is in third place with 1,389 yards, while Brown has moved into second place with 592 yards.
On the other hand, West Virginia has been inconsistent and is coming off a weird loss to Texas Tech, where the ‘Eers were basically out-physicaled by the Red Raiders (and yes, I’m aware this sentence would have been nonsensical just two seasons ago). What does it all mean? Well, prepare for chaos.
Kansas State’s offense is still a work in progress, and it’s heavily dependent on Deuce Vaughn. While that would normally be a cause for concern, maybe we should just be happy that the best freshman running back in the country wears a Kansas State jersey,
Plenty of pre-game content here:

— Luke Thompson and Bart Keeler of The Smoking Musket talk about the game on the latest episode of Bring on the PodCats.
— Finally, Drew Schneider reminds us to embrace this team and the weirdness of the 2020 season.
Time to get this West Virginia monkey off our backs! Go Cats! Win the dang day!
