Slate: We interrupt your football high for basketball news.

Oh, don’t worry, we have football news too.

Basketball

Yes, it’s football season and we’re all still buzzing a little from the weekend, but there’s some pretty awesome basketball news too. Yesterday, as announced via his social media, 2020 3-star (for now) St. Louis guard/wing Luke Kasubke gave his verbal commitment to Bruce Weber and the Wildcats. Kasubke continues the Wildcats strong recruiting presence in the St. Louis area, and will likely be a big part of the future plan to replace Xavier Sneed at the wing spot when that St. Louis-native graduates at the end of this season. Kasubke is the second pledge for the 2020 class, and Weber and staff will look to add at least one more player to that group before the early signing period in December. Both Kasbuke and fellow pledge Nigel Pack are expected to be on the Rivals 150 list when it is released later today.

Football

Chris Klieman held his weekly press conference Tuesday with the local media. Kellis Robinett has five noteworthy things from the presser, including **gasp** injury news. K-State Sports has the full transcript available, including quotes from the players that were available to the media.

And while the Wildcats were pleased with how well they handled Nicholls last Saturday, they know they need to stay focused on the week ahead to avoid a trap game against Bowling Green this weekend.

Soccer

The Wildcats will take their show on the road this weekend looking to turn last Sunday’s win into a streak, as the SoccerCats will head to sunny Southern California for a match against Cal State Northridge (CSUN) on Friday evening, before needing a day to get down the I-5 to take on Cal State Fullerton on Sunday evening.
