We’ll get into the news stuff in a minute, but we’ve got a big announcement dropping a little later this morning, so be sure and check on the main page for the big announcement!
Kansas State was on the docket for Big 12 Media Days yesterday, so of course today we have a bunch of content for you (and there will be plenty more the rest of the week).
We’ll start you off right here, as we brought you a quick and dirty recap of Chris Klieman’s turn at the podium yesterday, and dropped a recap of the entire event a little earlier this morning.
Despite being picked just ahead of Kansas in the Big 12 preseason poll, Klieman has high expectations for the Wildcats, and the players at media days do too. Some other notes out of the event include the confirmation that transfer DB Marcus Hayes did not get his transfer waiver approved and will have to sit out the 2019 season. Also, Klieman spoke about recently departed WR Hunter Rison, saying it was “the right thing to do” and they are ready to move forward. 247 Sports also has a roundup of what other league coaches said about the new K-State head mean, and of course all were very complimentary (warning, auto-play video). Finally, Klieman shared his thoughts on the viral video of RSFR QB John Holcombe dunking, and while he complemented the freshman’s athleticism, he was also worried about the potential for injury in that setting.
Suzie Fritz delivered some big news yesterday, announcing the signing of defensive specialist/libero Dru Kuck for the 2019 season. Kuck is rated the #2 player from Wisconsin for the 2019 class, and is another star addition to a 2019 class that was already #20 in the country. Another incoming freshman, Louisburg, KS native Anna Dixon, is “learning of the fly” in Mexico this summer as part of the 2019 U.S. Women’s Junior National Team.
