Baseball
Kansas State is in Waco today for the first game in a three-game road stand against No. 15 Baylor. First pitch tonight is scheduled for 6:30 PM at Baylor Ballpark, and will air on FOXSports Southwest and affiliates.
Griffin Hassall gets the start for the BatCats tonight, taking the mound in a series opener for the eighth straight time this season. Junior Caleb Littlejim will start on Saturday, with freshman lefty Jordan Wicke getting the nod for the series finale at noon on Sunday.
Golf
Roland Massimino, Jacob Eklund, and Jeremy Gandon will all represent Kansas State as individual players at the NCAA Athens Regional on May 13-15. This is the largest contingent of individual competitors the school has ever sent to a regional, and a decent reward for a historical spring season.
Casting a shadow over that achievement, however, was the fact that the golf team missed the proverbial cut to participate—as a team—in the NCAA Regionals. Selections were made by a committee but apparently based entirely on just the computer rankings. Needless to say, Kansas State head coach Grant Robbins was more than a little disappointed at this absurd outcome:
Really heartbroken for my team. To do what we have done this spring and to miss by 4 tenths of a percent on a computer ranking is disappointing. Why have a selection committee?

Rowing
The rowing team is the current holder of the Sunflower Cup and will look to defend it against arch rivals Kansas at the Sunflower Showdown on Wyandotte County Lake on Saturday.
Action kicks off at 11 AM tomorrow with the third varsity 8+ and concludes with the final race featuring the first varsity 8+ at noon.
Kansas State has had a great season so far, capturing three gold medals at SIRA and four medals at the Sunshine State Invitational.
Track
The track teams will play host to Kansas and UMKC this weekend at the Ward Haylett Invitational in Manhattan. This weekend’s action is the last regular season event for the Wildcats. Events begin with the men’s and women’s 1500m races tonight at 7:45 PM.
Action continues on Saturday beginning at 10 AM, which is also Senior Day for the track teams. Eleven seniors will be recognized.
The biggest highlight of the weekend may be the first appearance for the Wildcats on the renovated RV Christian Track, which now features school colors and Kansas State branding.

Basketball
Alihan Demir will not be coming to Kansas State. Currently at Drexel, the graduate transfer committed to Minnesota yesterday. But other recruiting targets still remain for the Wildcats, including Caleb Grill, an in-state prospect from Maize, and David Sloane, a junior college player from Louisville.
Meanwhile, Bruce Weber and the basketball program have announced the 2019 Summer Basketball Camps schedule.
