Football
Kansas State did not lose yesterday. Let’s just count our blessings and move on.
Meanwhile, JT’s weekly Power Rankings for Week 7 are up.
Golf
The men’s golf team has had a great weekend at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament in Houston. On the first day, the team scored an upset victory over Oklahoma, and then followed that up with a tie against Kansas with Tim Tillmanns, Jacob Eklund, and Kyle Vance all winning their matches. Later in the day, Eklund, Tillmanns, and Vance were joined in victory by teammate Will Hopkins as the Wildcats beat Baylor 4-1-1.
Today, the Wildcats lost to Oklahoma State in the morning 3-2-1 with Eklund and Vance both winning their matches, but they’re currently leading Texas 3-2-1 through 12 holes and could pull off the win.
Volleyball
Kansas State took the first set but could not capitalize on that lead and dropped the match to West Virginia yesterday at Ahearn Field House 3-1 (8-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-19) . The ‘Eers held a huge advantage in kills over the match, and especially in the final three sets.
The VolleyCats did hit .254 as a team, but were unable to find a consistent attack over a sustained period of time after the first set.
Up next, Kansas State hits the road for a mid-week contest against Oklahoma on Wednesday night.
