K-State Slate: Cheering onto the Championship

K-State Cheer team qualified for the NCA Collegiate cheer championships, plus notes on the Women’s loss to TCU and a Wildcat mailbag

NCAA Football: Kansas State at Oklahoma Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Lots of fun stuff happening in K-State sports, so get ready for a jammed full Slate today BOTC’ers.....just kidding there’s only three pieces of actual information today. But be on the look out for #content from Luke Thompson today as he brings us this weeks version of Bring on the PodCats, plus his usual Tournament Thursday fare. But for now let’s start with the bad news.

Women’s Basketball

Jeff Mittie and co. lost to Mittie’s former team, TCU, last night 61-47 in a game where they never held the lead. (Justin Toscano, Manhattan Mercury) This is now back to back blow out losses by the Wildcats after falling this weekend to West Virginia. Overall this team is struggling to find any kind of consistency, and they hope to find the winning formula this Saturday against the 23rd ranked Iowa State Cyclones.

Miscellaneous

Onto the fun news story, Kellis gave us his mid week mailbag which included an interesting theory on how to put Jacob Pullin’s number up in the rafters, plus ideas on the number of alternate uniforms and how he grades the new coaching staff at recruiting. (Kellis Robinett, Wichita Eagle)

Lastly, the best news story of the day comes from K-State Cheer. The Cheer team qualified for the NCA Collegiate Cheer Championships, which is the premier event for competitive college cheer squads. Looks like K-State may need to add some room in our trophy case next to the meat judging trophies, and bass fishing trophies. (Corbin McGuire, K-State Athletics)
