A theme of Kansas State football, and Kansas State overall is one of family. And that family includes not just the university, but the Big 12 overall. And today our Iowa State family is hurting from the news of Celia Barquin Arozamena’s death.

Celia Barquin Arozamena’s body was found at the Coldwater Golf Course Monday morning. Arozamena suffered from “multiple stab wounds to the torso, head, and neck”. A 22- year old has been charged with her murder.

Arozamena was the 2018 Big 12 champion and Iowa State’s female athlete of the year. She was a three time all conference athlete and qualified for the NCAA regionals every year she competed. She had returned to Iowa State to finish her civil engineering degree this fall. She will be honored by the university at this weeks football game.

Our thoughts, prayers, well-wishes, and good vibes go out to Barquin Arozamena’s family, her golf teammates, and all of the Iowa State community.

Kickoff time for the Texas game was announced yesterday, and the Wildcats will kick-off at 2:30 god’s own time zone on Fox Sports 1. (Taylor Estes, Horns 247sports)

This week’s match-up will be a tough one for the Wildcat defense. The injury bug has hit that unit hard with starting safety Denzel Goolsby expected to miss a few more games, Elijah Sullivan still recovering from a preseason injury, and Kevion McGee dealing with an undisclosed injury suffered during the opening game.
