SLATE: The last boring Monday

There’s not much news to discuss today, but get ready, folks.

Start paying attention now.
In less than 60 hours, there will be sports on campus.

You’d think, what with this being the first Monday of August, we’d have a lot to share with you.

You’d be wrong.

But in just two days, there will be actual sports happening on campus as K-State Soccer hosts Minnesota in their final exhibition of the season, following their 1-0 defeat at Arkansas on Saturday. And that means that the fallow summer is finally coming to a close.

Justin Toscano digs into the process of recruiting for K-State women’s basketball at the Mercury.

Sophomore golfer Reid Isaac, who’s qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, is the subject of today’s Sports Extra with Corbin McGuire. That tournament, held at the Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, begins today.
