Pretty light newsday, even for hitting the Slate in the afternoon.
First up, BracketCat finished up yesterday with our “other” #32, senior running back Justin Silmon. And because we are a little behind today, he beat the Slate with the profile of #31 Jahron McPherson. Yes, folks, we are one calendar month from K-State football!
Over at the Wichita Eagle/KC Star, Kellis Robinett asked five important questions about K-State’s offense as it heads into training camp. Spoiler: QB is the first question.
K-State athletics announced details for the annual Fan Appreciation Day, to be held this year on August 11th, with the event set to begin at 5:00pm.
K-State Sports also dropped their weekly summer baseball update; former Wildcat Nick Martini continues to impress, going 2-for-4 with an RBI in the Athletics 10-1 win over the Blue Jays on Monday night, and he is hitting .409 over his last 10 games.
Last but not least, the Sports Extra for today featured K-State baseball volunteer assistant coach Shane Conlon, who was retained by new head coach Pete Hughes. Conlon, who was an All-Big 12 performer twice during his time at K-State - including during the 2013 Big 12 Championship season - speaks highly of the new coach and the apparent direction of the program, and is excited for the future of K-State baseball.
