It was Jacob Jenkins day yesterday. Which means, of course, that we have only 53 days left until football. And in five days we’ll have Big 12 media day which will give us just a little football sample to help us survive the long summer sports drought.

Ahead of next weeks media days, the media’s preseason All-Big 12 teams were released, and AMS covered the two Wildcats who earned preseason honors.

As covered by AMS in the above link, Dalton Risner and Kendall Adams were named preseason All-Big 12. Adams had an injury shortened junior years, but still made 63 tackles and 3 picks. Risner anchored the O-lines right side and is one of the top tackles in the nation. (Kellis Robinett, KC Star)

They’re back again. The Purple and Black Kansas State alumni team are back in The Basketball Tournament. Leading the team this season is Martavious Irving. It’s been five years since he last danced down the Bramlage Coliseum tunnel, but when this team gets together it feels like everyone is back in college. (Kellis Robinett, Wichita Eagle)

The Bill Snyder Half Marathon/ 5k race will have an exciting finish next year. The race will finish on the field of Bill Snyder Family Stadium. (Bryan Richardson, Manhattan Mercury)
