Welcome BotC readers. We come to you today from the ice planet, Hoth. I have braved the cold, ice, and poor road conditions to bring you today’s slate. Expect an approx. 100% increase in your subscription fees to cover these hazardous work conditions. And now onto sports.

Yesterday, Kansas State took care of business at home against Texas, and likely secured an NCAA tournament birth in the process. AMS provided the recaps of a gritty Wildcat victory.

Men’s Basketball

Basketball doesn’t have to be pretty as long as Kansas State wins. It’s always nice when the play and the game look good, but at this point in the season winning games must continue to happen. (Kellis Robinett, Wichita Eagle)

For Texas, they need to find some ways to win ugly games, as last night loss puts them on the wrong side of the bubble. (Michael Shapiro, Dallas News)

Last nights win gave K-State another 20 win season. It’s the fourth time that’s happened under Bruce Weber, but that doesn’t mean Weber is satisfied with the accomplishment. (Kellis Robinett , Wichita Eagle)

Football

Promoted Defensive Coordinator Blake Seiler has a new contract which runs through April 2021. The contract includes a raise from $265,000 per year to $440,000 per year, and no buy out if Seiler leaves for a head coaching position at the college level. (Kellis Robinett, Wichita Eagle)

Baseball

Kansas State survived a 7th inning rally from Elon to take an 8-7 victory. Freshman Caleb Littlejim threw a career high 5 13 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned), on 80 pitches. The win moves the BatCats to 2-3 on the season. Next up for the BatCats is a three game series against Old Dominion starting Friday at 2 pm. (Kstatesports.com)
