It’s a super-slow Friday in Wildcat Nation as the college football world prepares for tomorrow’s Really Big Deal, the playoff semifinals. We only have three items to share today, but one is of at least academic importance to us here.
Kellis Robinett reports at the Star that the quietly-rumored transfer destination for former K-State quarterback Alex Delton was correct: Delton will be headed to El Paso to rejoin his former offensive coordinator, Dana Dimel, at UTEP.
As a grad transfer, the 2016 Cactus Bowl MVP will be immediately eligible with one year remaining. We’ve reached out to an old pal, Alex Nicolas of Miner Maniac (formerly of our now comatose sister site Miner Rush), to get some insight on how this move might shake out for Delton, and we’ll report on that if and when we get the chance.
Via the Capital-Journal, an AP story by Josh Dubow fills us in on the trials undergone by our old pal wide receiver Jordy Nelson in his initial season as a (boo!) Oakland Raiders.
Today’s Sports Extra has Corbin McGuire focusing on Makol Mawien and his search for consistency after a big-time performance against Vanderbilt last weekend.
That’s it for today, fearless citizens. Feel free to get all open thready today, and have a great playoff weekend.
