We’re finally at the end of a bye week. That means the fake games are over, and real football is right around the corner. There will be plenty of news about the Kansas State-Baylor matchup in the coming days.
Meanwhile, there was plenty of college football action this week, and Jon Morse runs it all down in the CFB Week 4 Rewind.
A football bye week is also a good time to catch up on other Kansas State fall sports action. Let’s dive right in, shall we?
The tennis team just capped off one its most successful outings in recent memory at the Mizzou Invite in Columbia. Ines Mesquita and Anna Turco both finished 3-0 in singles matches yesterday and took the co-championship in singles. The Wildcats also went 4-0 over three-set matches. These results are particularly exciting in view of the fact that the team hasn’t had much chance to practice and this was the season’s first tournament.
The men’s golf team is in action this weekend at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas. It hasn’t been a stellar weekend so far, as the Wildcats are currently in 12th place. Jeremy Gandon is -1, however, and is leading all Kansas State golfers. He’s currently tied for 10th place and will probably be low Wildcat for the tournament.
The soccer and volleyball squads are both in action today against Big 12 opponents. The soccer team is in Fort Worth to take on TCU in just the second conference game for the Wildcats. The match is scheduled for 1 PM, and live action will be on FOXSports Southwest as well as FOXSportsGo.
The VolleyCats play Kansas today at Ahearn Field House in an all-new episode of the Sunflower Showdown, and will attempt to end a five-match losing streak to their in-state rivals. First serve is set for 12 PM, and the match will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Happy Sunday!
