Football
Back in the present, Kansas State is gearing up for what could be a great season. The schedule might present some issues, however. Not only are the Wildcats playing an SEC team (Vanderbilt) on the road in the non-conference part of the schedule, but after an early bye in September, Kansas State will play nine straight Big 12 games. The toughest of those games? According to Athlon, it’s the October 21st tilt against Oklahoma and it’s hard to disagree.

Terrance Harris of the Associated Press commemorates the 45th anniversary of Title IX with a piece on gender and racial inequality in the coaching ranks. Specifically, the article focuses on the results of a recent study of women’s college sports by the Institute for Diversity & Ethics in Sport. Seven of the eight conferences registered a C or D grade for women coaching women’s sports, and did even worse with respect to women of color in the coaching ranks.
