Barnes ready to return

Baseball drops game to Oklahoma State

NCAA Football: Kansas State at Baylor Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

Jon Morse did such a great stop filling in yesterday that there’s barely any new information to share here today! Still, the show must go on.

Football

Last season, Alex Barnes set the field on fire producing two 100-yard rushing games and some spectacular highlights before being sidelined with injury. Now he’s healthier than ever before and itching to get back to work, as noted by our own Greg Woods in the Manhattan Mercury.

Baseball

Kansas State could not keep its Friday momentum going and lost to Oklahoma State 13-3 yesterday in Stillwater. Despite 11 base hits, the BatCats only managed three runs and allowed the Cowboys to pull away late with a huge seventh inning.

Starter Parker Rigler’s struggles on the mound continued. He tossed almost four innings, giving up six runs and eight hits. He was credited with the loss and is now 2-3 on the season.

The series is now even and the decider will be played today. First pitch is scheduled for noon.

Golf

At the PING/ASU Invitational, the Kansas State women’s golf team was tied for fifth overnight, with Paige Nelson in fourth place 5-under-par 139. The final round is already underway, and the Wildcats are currently in sixth place at +5. Nelson is leading the team but has not yet teed off on the day.

You can follow the team’s progress HERE.

Happy Sunday, all!
