K-State secures a commit from Makol Mawein

Meet K-State’s newest commit, notes on the NFL draft, BatCats drop a heartbreaker, and huge layoffs from ESPN.

Yesterday, Jon dropped some “What the bleep?” news, in the form of Kamau Stokes announcing his declaration for the NBA draft.

Gracey then followed with a look at another K-State draft prospect, Elijah Lee.


We lead off with the Miscellaneous section, because the biggest sports news of the day is the massive layoffs taking place at ESPN. Major on air talent is being let go in this latest round of firings includeing: Brett McMurhpy, Ed Werder, Jayson Stark, Jeremy Crabtree, Max Olson and many more. Now, onto K-State. It comes as little surprise to K-State fans that Jordan Willis enters the NFL draft as a legitimate first-round candidate, but that doesn’t mean Willis is making a big deal about his prospects. (KC Star, Kellis Robinett)

It came as a big of a surprise when Elijah Lee declared for the NFL draft, but his motives are pure, as his declaration was motivated, in part, by a desire to help take care of his mom and four siblings. (Capital Journal, Ken Corbitt)
