Big Game and Big News

Big match-up tonight in Bramlage, and Klein returns (officially)

Tonight is a big game in Bramlage. As Greg Woods talks about in his game preview, K-State is hobbled with the status of D.J. Johnson still uncertain, and the Cats had problems when he was healthy a few weeks ago in Ames.

As Bruce Weber is wont to do, he is “hoping for a special performance” tonight when the Cats take on the Cyclones (Robinett, KC Star). But the Cats will need far better perimeter defense than what they showed in Hilton back in January if they want to pull this one out (Corbitt, Capital-Journal).

The Wildcat women are also in action tonight, taking on West Virginia in Morgantown to start off a two game road trip. Both teams are coming off big wins at home on Saturday, and the Cats will look to repeat their performance against WVU earlier this year.

What we knew last week is now officially official. Collin Klein will return to Manhattan and the haunts of Bill Snyder Family Stadium as the quarterbacks coach, replacing the recently retired Del Miller. Klein spent one season at Northern Iowa in the same capacity following two years as a graduate assistant for the Wildcats after a very short professional career. At least one former player is happy with the announcement (Robinett, Eagle)
