Slate: A little bit of a few things

Football, basketball, and baseball...oh, my.

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

News is a bit light today (and a little late), sorry, y’all.

Football

Kellis Robinett has a story on Will Geary, who continues to rank as one of the best interior linemen in the Big 12.

Basketball

Now two years in a row James Love is sitting on the sideline during fall practice with a foot injury. Robinett reports that Love will not play in the extra exhibition game this weekend, but beyond that his status is unknown.

Baseball

The 2018 schedule for K-State Baseball was released on Tuesday. The slate includes 29 home games, as well as non-conference trips to South and North Carolina, Virginia, and California. The team kicks off the season on Friday, February 16 against South Alabama in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, while the home opener is scheduled for Friday, March 2 that opens a three-game series against La Salle.

Other

After an enrollment decline of about 1,000 students from last year, K-State is looking at a major budget cut, approximately $12 million, that will affect the 2018FY budget.

K-State was featured in several sections of the Blue Ribbon Study Panel on Defense's Special Bipartisan Report released Wednesday. The report highlighted work K-State researchers have done on emerging diseases.
