Thank your chosen higher power for the College Football Playoff, otherwise we wouldn’t have anything even remotely interesting with which to open your Monday.
We’re not kidding. There is not a single piece of actual K-State news this morning. It’s almost as if the universe has aligned to ensure that Alabama and Clemson get all the attention.
On the other hand, there is this:
From Nancy Armour at USA Today: former Wildcat great Jordy Nelson was knocked out of last night’s wild card game against the Giants after a crushing hit in the ribs by Leon Hall. It’s bad news for the Packers with Dallas looming next weekend. How serious is it? We don’t know yet, but here’s ESPN’s medical expert Dr. Mark Adickes:
Concerns for Jordy Nelson are broken ribs, pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and splenic laceration with blow occurring on his left side.

Understand, he hasn’t been diagnosed with any of those yet. Adickes is merely noting possibilities based on the location of the hit and the apparent force.
That’s all we have for you today, so consider this Open Thread Monday. You can go off-topic right from the jump.
