Yesterday brought us a good deal of content to the Bring On the Cats frontpage. BracketCat dropped the week-late BOTC Blog Poll, and then Jon posted the first part of his September national conference review, starting with the Sun Belt Conference and Conference USA. Then came a bunch of good news. First, for the second week in a row a K-State returner was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, with Byron Pringle taking the honor this time. Then, Bruce Weber’s 2017 recruiting class got bigger with a verbal commitment from power forward Nigel Shadd.
Football
Speaking of Byron Pringle, Ken Corbitt at the Topeka Capital-Journal says that Pringle has been making steady progress this year, culminating in his first TD reception and his STPotW nod. Over at the Wichita Eagle, Kellis Robinett opened his notebook and took another look at Saturday’s weather-shortened contest, noting that Pringle still needs to get going, and that K-State’s defense is now #1 in the nation. Greg Woods at the Manhattan Mercury took a look at Jesse Ertz’s talent-showing performance on Saturday. K-State Athletics also updated us on the Cats in the NFL, including highlights from Jordy Nelson, Terence Newman, and Darren Sproles.
The October 8th game against Texas Tech in Manhattan finally has a kickoff time, and the 6pm contest will air either on ESPN2 or ESPNU (I assume the former if the Cats win in Morgantown, the latter if WVU gets their first W over K-State in the modern era).
And that’s all for today, enjoy your Tuesday!
