The hangover from the glorious Superbowl that saw my beloved Broncos become World Champs continued throughout Monday, as only jeffp171 managed to fight through the haze to bring us the visual box score for Kansas State's upset of Oklahoma.
With a near double-double against Oklahoma, Dean Wade earned the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award. This is his second Newcomer of the week win, having won previously on December 7th after hitting the game winning shot against Georgia.(Capital Journal-Staff Reports)
The victory over OU put Kansas State squarely on the bubble with ESPN's Joe Lunardi leaving them off the bracket completely, Jerry Palm listing the Wildcats as part of the last four out, and finally USA Today's bracket has K-State as one of the last four-in, playing George Washington in Dayton.(Shelby Mast, USA Today) The best part of the bracket is who they would play next, as USA Today has the victor of that game moving on to face Kentucky in Oklahoma City. Should that happen I'm certain I'll find a way to make the 5 mile drive to Chesapeake Arena to cheer on the 'Cats.
Topeka High's Mike McCoy is ready to lace them up for the Wildcat's. The senior signed his letter of intent last Wednesday and hopes to "win a Big 12 Championship" in his time with the Wildcats. (Chris Lilly, WIBW.com)
