Volleyball Picks Up Big Win

A season sweep of the Sooners, and we’re nearing football again.

Yesterday at Bring On The Cats, Luke dropped this week’s Bring on the PodCats (which, at this moment, is still experiencing technical difficulties), and he and Derek talked with Matt Tennant from Our Daily Bears (Jordan in real life) about the game this Saturday. Remember, you can always click the link at the bottom and check it out on iTunes.

Also, Gracey stopped over to Facebook for her weekly FacebookLive session, where she talks football, the new(ish) K-State Pres., and more.

Volleyball

The VolleyCats started slowly, but came back with a roar. After dropping the first set to the visiting Sooners 23-25, the Cats reeled off three straight set victories (25-18, 25-15, 25-21) to complete the season sweep of the dirt burglars. We also have our very own official recap of the match provided by our own Greg Woods. Also in the match, Brooke Sassin broke the 1,000 kill mark for her career (in only her third season), becoming just the sixth player in K-State history to reach that milestone in the rally-scoring era (since 2001).

Baseball

The BatCats have secured the paperwork of 11 recruits during the early signing period. The class includes young men from six states, including Kansas (4), Texas (3), Colorado (1). Minnesota (1), Missouri (1) and Nevada (1), and all will be entering K-State as freshmen (no JUCO transfers in the early period). The class includes four pitchers, four infielders, two outfielders, and one utility player.

Football

Snyder may have been in a somber mood two weeks ago after the loss to Oklahoma State, but he was in a much better mood Tuesday during the press conference, even joking with reporters about snapping the ball every 8 seconds (Jellison, Mercury). And while the Cats have taken note that the Bears are sliding right now, they are still wary and preparing hard for Baylor and the talent they can still bring to the field (Robinett, Eagle). Also looming for the Cats? One win separates the Cats from bowl eligibility, and the team would like to get that locked up this weekend, instead of needing to wait for Senior Day (Corbitt, Capital-Journal). Also, the Dallas News is back with 5 things Baylor fans need to know about the Wildcats.
