There was a little bit of everything yesterday, with JT starting us out by previewing National Signing day. Then, Jon broke the news that Akela Jones won National Female athlete of the week for the second time in three weeks
Finally, JT recapped last night's wrestling match basketball game against West Virginia.
Glenn Gronkowski already has a household name. Now he'll try to distinguish his talent from his older brother, Rob Gronkowski.
Last night a youth laden Kansas State team travelled east to the mountains of West Virginia and faced a top 10 team who forces the second most turnovers in the country. The result? An unsurprising loss, 70-55. (Kellis Robinett, KC Star)
Momentum can be a fickle mistress, and last night the Wildcats could never find the right combination of sweet talk, flowers, and flattery to convince her to come over to their side of court. West Virginia's press defense was too stifling for Kansas State, and as a young team will do, the Wildcats got out of sort by forcing quick shots and then missing easy shots as they played slightly out of control all night. (Ken Corbitt, Capital Journal)
Lastly, in USA Today's most recent bracketology Kansas State is in the group of teams still under consideration for an at-large bid. This is a testament to the depth and respect the Big 12 conference is getting from the national media, and also shows just how tough it is to play in the Big 12. We should all keep this in mind, as the thought that this team would be in the NCAA tournament talk was basically a pipe dream at the beginning of the season. (Shelby Mast, USA Today)
