Men lose another tough one, Women paste KU in Allen Field House

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Today's slate comes to you from the wintery wonderland that is #EMAW worldwide headquarters. Stay safe today, it's a mess out there.

Yesterday, Jon brought us some big news from the football front, as K-State and Arizona have agreed to a home-and-home in 2024 & 2025. Game one is in Manhattan, the return match in Tucson.

Also yesterday, Luke dropped off the Bring On The Podcast, featuring Cowboys Ride For Free managing editor Gerald Tracy III.

And the men and women both played basketball games last night. JT recapped (because Eric was out of town) the ones who lost in Waco.

Other recaps from the K-State beat for last night's double-overtime loss to Baylor: Robinett--Eagle/Star; Corbitt--Cap-Journal; K-State SID.

Jeff Mittie's squad fared much better in their road game, walking out of Allen Fieldhouse with a 59-46 victory over the Lady Beakers (K-State SID). The Cats held KU to just two points in the first quarter and only 13 at the half on only three made field goals. Meanwhile, Bre Lewis had a night, posting a near triple-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 blocks. Overall the Cats held KU to just 24% shooting, and only allowed six KU points in the paint. Ben Felderstein also has a recap from the Capital-Journal.

Hey, we have a little football stuff for your Thursday morning! Ian Boyd, SBNation college football writer, posted a "glossary of modern Big 12 defensive positions", because things are just not what they used to be. Lots of pointing to K-State players in this, for good reasons.

And while not related to K-State in anyway, some cool news out of Buffalo, NY yesterday as the Bills have hired the first full-time female assistant coach. Good luck to Kathryn Smith, hopefully this turns out well for all involved.
