one day closer. One day closer. I know it seems like a long time until football season, but everyday we inch closer and yesterday was no different as Bracket presented us with Day 82.
Lots of football news today so let's get right to it:
First up, Jake Trotter at espn.com, examines the case for and against teams not named Baylor or TCU to win the Big 12.
Pete Grathoff breaks down the Athlon NCAA coaching rankings, noting our beloved Bill Snyder is ranked fifth overall, and second in the Big 12.
Max Olsen, espn.com, examined his own set of rankings, specifically of the recruiting variety. The hidden gem of the article? That Iowa State still doesn't have a single recruit for the 2016 season.
The Salina Post's Devin Hanney has a report on Aidan Murray, a 2015 Southeast Salina High graduate who has earned a preferred walk-on spot at Kansas State.
We all saw the ugly injury Boston Stiverson suffered in the bowl game against UCLA. And it was easy to question if Stiverson would be able to continue playing after such an injury. That answer appears to be a definitive yes, as Stiverson told Kellis Robinett he's a full go for football activities. This could be a huge boost to Kansas State's offensive line as Stiverson started 17 straight games at left guard.
Berry Tramel usually comes up with articles that spark debate, and this one surely will as Tramel ranked all 75 games Big 12 teams will play this season (heads up there is an annoying auto play video at the beginning of each article). Props to anyone who can guess the 75 ranked game (without looking of course).
Finally, we cap off this all football slate (thank goodness for football) with a litte NFL news, as the Chiefs signed former Kansas State offensive tackle Tavon Rooks.
