Four more track athletes qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships yesterday at the West Preliminaries in Austin.

Alyx Treasure tied for first in the high jump and qualified for the NCAAs. She'll be joined in Eugene by teammates Akela Jones and Kim Williamson who tied for third.

Tia' Gamble recorded a personal best time of 58.19s in the 800m event. She is the first to qualify for the NCAAs in this event since Erica Twiss.

A'Keyla Mitchell took fourth place overall in the 200m, clocking a wind-legal 22.96s, the first sub-23 time in school history. Her counterpart on the men's side, Terrell Smith, ran his second-fastest time ever for a 9th place finish and a spot in the quarterfinals.

Governor Sam Brownback and Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer joined federal and state officials to lay the foundation for the National Bio- and Agrodefense Facility in Manhattan this week. Construction is expected to be complete by 2021.
