K-State Slate: 4.21.15-Off-season Doldrums

The off-season doldrums have officially hit, and there were more basketball defections.

In case you missed it yesterday, former Wildcat Marcus Foster, will now be playing for Creighton. Foster has also found a new openness as well, as he opens up in a new article with the Omaha World-Herald.

In less depressing news, Kansas State begins a seven game road trip today, with a game against Nebraska. First pitch is at 6:35 P.M. Hopefully, the BatCats can turn it around after dropping two games of the three game series against Texas Tech this past weekend.

Kansas State's men's basketball defection epidemic has now hit the women's team, as juco transfer Ashley Jones is transferring to Central Missouri to finish school. Meanwhile, Deborah Meeks will graduate in May and will seek a graduate degree.

This Friday marks the start of the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The ninth seeded Wildcats will tee off on hole one at 8:50 A.M. If there are any golf fans in the Tulsa area the championship is free and open to the public.

In a letter to the editor, Kansas State President Kirk Schultz states his opposition to a proposed tuition freeze.

In advanced stats news, Major League Baseball is rolling out a new tracking technology on MLB Network, Tuesday evening. The technology, called Statcast, can tell fans things like, who runs fastest to first base, who covers the most ground in the outfield, and much more. It'll be interesting to see how baseball broadcasts will incorporate this new technology.
