Yesterday:
Goodbye, Jayhawks! Enjoy having to listen to people bust on you for losing to Wichita State!
They weren't the only two-seed to bite the dust yesterday, as Michigan State opened the proceedings by getting rid of Virginia. Other than West Virginia's win over Maryland in a 4-5 game, however, the rest of the day went chalk. As a result, the only double-digit seed left in the field is UCLA, who are obviously not eligible for Cinderella status. That falls to the Shockers and, strangely, Gonzaga. Yes, they're a two-seed. But they're a mid-major, so the Slipper Still Fits, as their SB Nation blog title indicates.
The top remaining seeds in each of the three NIT regions which played today all advanced, and they'll all host regional finals on Tuesday. Richmond had to fight it out, however, as Arizona State took the Spiders to overtime.
Yesterday's results, with, as always, green linked recaps courtesy our friends around the SB Nation college network.

You're going to have to settle for -- gasp -- "lesser" basketball tonight, be it watching the ladies play or checking out Those Other Tournaments. The NIT second round wraps up tonight, the CBI quarterfinals all take place, and the CIT second round also comes to a close. The schedule:

Yesterday:
Well, that was a surprise. An 11 seed has advanced to the Sweet 16 of the Women's tournament, which, like, never happens, dude. The awesome part? That team is Gonzaga... and they're in the Spokane regional, which means they get to play at home next weekend. Needless to say, folks in Tennessee are unhappy.
Dayton, the seven seed, did what their men couldn't and advanced by taking down Kentucky. The only other "upset" on the day was Texas squeaking past California.
In the WNIT... well, two horrible things happened. K-State was crushed by Missouri in the career finales for Haley Texada and Heidi Brown (Ashia Woods' career, tragically, ended with her injury against Akron earlier in the week). To add insult to injury, South Dakota went 5:08 of the final 5:09 without scoring, basically handing the win to Northern Colorado.
That's right, K-State's former coaching staff is still alive while K-State isn't.
TCU also bowed out, coughing up a 10-point lead with 3:52 left to Southern Miss. USM coach Joye Lee-McNelis was going to pull her seniors at that point, but decided against it. Never quit, right? Jerontay Clemons scored 14 points in that 3:52 as part of an 18-8 run which sent the game into overtime.

Tonight:
This is just unbelievable. FGCU-Florida State is on national television, but Princeton-Maryland isn't. You know, the game between a #1 seed and a 31-0 eight seed? Yeah, okay.
Two double-digit seeds are trying to advance tonight, and Oklahoma is in action against Stanford. The second round of the WNIT concludes as well. The schedule:
