We're approaching halftime of the morning flight, and there's really not a lot of K-State news to report this morning that BigE didn't already cover three hours ago in his recap of last night's 70-52 exhibition win over Fort Hays State.
The volleyball team (14-8, 6-4) hosts Texas Tech (13-12, 2-9) tonight at Ahearn, and should have no trouble notching another win. If you'd rather watch K-State do things than watch other teams play football tonight, you can catch the match on ESPN3.
We told you yesterday that Carolina Costamagna lost to NC State's Martina Frantova at the USTA Clay Court Invitational at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando. Ana Garcia Navas also fell, 6-2 6-3, to Florida's Spencer Liang. But the pair advanced to the tournament's doubles quarterfinal in the afternoon, dispatching Sofia Baptista and Caroline Eberhart of Central Florida 8-1. This morning, they both played consolation singles matches; this afternoon they'll face the Clemson duo of Maria Fernanda Navarro and Daniela Ruiz Alvarez.
And with that, your football open thread. It looks like Miami might have actually beaten Duke today, so we can put last week's unpleasantness behind us. What are you watching? What are you looking for today?
