BracketCat hits the one-month mark with #30, Corey Jackson. Also, we examine the position condition for the linebackers for 2014. Look for more content to drop today as we head into the weekend.
Freshman guard Tre Harris is traveling to Europe with Global Sports Academy to play a series of exhibition games against professional squads. Will Spradling made the trip last summer.
It's so close now, you can practically smell the football. Still, with just slightly under a month to go, most of the battles are still being fought on paper. The latest salvo is the Amway Coaches Top 25 poll released yesterday by USA Today. Jon Morse ran the numbers yesterday, and the poll reveals some noteworthy trends. Interestingly, neither Alabama or Auburn rated a first place vote. As for K-State, the Wildcats checked in at #21, one of only four Big 12 teams in the poll. Predictably, Oklahoma leads the conference at #3 and Baylor rounds out the top 10. Texas is ranked #24. The ESPN (blog) takes a closer look at each of the Big 12 teams in the poll, and some wonder if Oklahoma is overrated, with too much weight given to their bowl win over Alabama. That's a college football meme in itself though: beat Alabama, win the Heisman. Beat Alabama, start out Top 5 the next season, and so on. Spencer Hall gives you his own (better!) version of the Top 25 poll. K-State is at a predictable #20. Because wizards and juco transfers. Also, there are a lot of Amway jokes, as there should be. If you get 5 other coaches to vote, and they each get 5, you make the playoff. RT @slmandel: Amway is the new sponsor of the coaches poll.
Happy Friday!
