Yesterday on BotC: BracketCat's countdown at #37, linebacker Sam Sizelove, and Ahearn Alley's piece on translating Bill Snyder at Big 12 Media Days. Later today on BotC: Derek Smith's Look Ahead Rewind will feature the Oklahoma Sooners.
Ken Corbitt writes about Ryan Mueller making the most of his chances at K-State, and in his senior year, he's still inspired to prove doubters wrong. Is Bill Snyder the most underrated coach in college football? Also, the national media just can't let that Taco Bell thing go. Berry Tramel thinks Mack Brown should be the new head coach at Arkansas, and he thinks eventually fired Razorbacks' coach Bret Bielema will land on his feet: at K-State to replace Bill Snyder. Discuss.
Baylor swept the Big 12 Athlete of the Year awards, with QB Bryce Petty being honored on the men's side, and point guard Odyssey Sims on the women's side.
Golfers Kyle Weldon and Daniel Wood were among 75 athletes named to the Division I All-America Scholars team. Meanwhile, Connor Knabe, Matt Green and former K-State golfer Alex Carney advanced to match play of the Kansas Amateur, but Knabbe had to beat Green to advance, and Carney fell to Grant Grego. Former K-State QB Zac Burton also featured in match play, beating former KU golfer Aaron Sheaks. The opening round was won by KU's Chase Hanna.
Big ideas dominated when the Kansas Board of Regents met to discuss budget priorities. Among K-State's top budget requests is $150M for a new food research facility to complement NBAF. Happy Friday, all!
