K-State is picked to finish third in the Big 12, behind OU and Baylor, and just a hair ahead of Texas. (We were ahead of Texas by a single vote in the media poll). No points for guessing which team was predicted to finish last. The story is also reported here.
By the way, this is the highest preseason prediction for K-State since the conference round robin schedule began in 2011.
As was discussed in the comments, K-State has done well in the preseason All-Big 12 team selections. The Cats have four players on the team (Tyler Lockett (WR and KR), B.J. Finney, Cody Whitehair, and Ryan Mueller).
The Big 12 will be hosting a forum, The State of College Athletics on August 6 in New York. AD John Currie will be one of the featured panelists.
SI.com (which seems to be involved with every college sports blog except SB Nation!) takes a look at the first half of K-State's 2014 schedule.
