Big 12 Baseball Championship: preview, tv info, streaming

Can K-State somehow stumble into the regionals? Are we saying there's a chance?

Let's make room for another one of these.

The college sports season starts lurching to a close, and it's very possible that by Thursday afternoon the only current action we'll have left to report on will be the NCAA Track and Field Championships. But for now, the BatCats are still kicking, and are on their way to Tulsa to try and stage a miracle run into the NCAA Baseball Championships. Here's all you need to know for the week.

The event: Kansas State takes on the Oklahoma Sooners in the third of four Wednesday games. K-State has faced Oklahoma six times in the Big 12 tournament, going 2-4 including the extra-inning loss in the 2013 Big 12 Championship Game. Oklahoma took two of three from the Wildcats in Manhattan just last week.

We still don't have information on who's going to start tomorrow, although Nate Griep -- who shutout the Sooners last week -- is a pretty good bet. The team's inconsistency this year makes predicting what will happen almost impossible, but if Griep's on the hill and the bats have anything in them, the 'Cats could very well be playing Thursday afternoon rather than in the morning. With a double-elimination tournament, surviving day-to-day is the ultimate necessity.

First Pitch: Wednesday, May 20 at approximately 4:00pm CT, ONEOK Field (7,833) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Tickets: $10-25 per session; sessions are morning games and evening games.

Television: Every game of the tournament (save the championship game, which will air on FOX Sports 1) airs on Fox College Sports Central, also FS Midwest Plus and FS Southwest Plus. We're not sure who's calling the games yet. FCS Central is on DirecTV 608, AT&T 646, Verizon 301, Cox 265 in Manhattan (271 in Oklahoma), Surewest 572, TimeWarner 373, and Dish Network... well, somewhere between 442 and 448 depending on their mood. Note that you may require a sports package to be able to get the channel.

Also worth noting: the Brad Hill Show will air on FCS Central at 3:30pm Wednesday, assuming the TV schedule holds up in the face of game delays, extra innings, and the like.

Radio: Selected K-State Sports Network outlets, including 1350 KMAN in Manhattan, with Matt Walters and John Kurtz. Obviously, this applies only to K-State's games.

Online: Video streaming via the FOX Sports GO app. Audio streaming via K-StateHD.tv with Walters and Kurtz (again, K-State only). Live stats via Big 12 Scoreboard.
