Athletic departments see surge financially in down economy

I have to say - it makes me damn proud of my University the way they handle their expenses so well. We have one of the smallest revenues in the BCS conferences, yet still find a way to go under budget - AND STILL FIELD VERY COMPETITIVE TEAMS.

2011-12 Men's Hoops Season Tickets on Sale June 20

Of course, the stupid schedule isn't available yet. Gotta love that.

Earnest Ross Transfers from Auburn to Missouri

This probably is Frank Haith's most significant acquisition yet. His 2012-13 team will be decimated after losing six seniors (now that George Goode has joined the team for one year only). This at least gives him a head start on the rebuilding process.

Kansas State Summer Baseball Update: June 13

I vaguely remember these being popular last summer, so here ya go!

Look at what awaited us had the "12" not been saved.

Cody Green Considers K-State

Cody Green (Ex-Nebraska QB) told the site he was impressed by his visit to K-State. "Coach (Bill) Snyder and those guys are a class act," he said. "When you have a legend like Coach Snyder, everything feeds off him. He’s like Coach (Tom) Osborne in that way. Their whole coaching staff are great guys to be around. I had a lot of fun."

Haskin Plugs Steele

Some interesting tidbits. And on an OT note, as it actually at least still relates to the TCJ, is it just me or is Austin Meek having to fill the Jayhawk beat as well? I'm assuming TCJ is doing this only in the summer which is smart and two-fold: They save money by not paying a salary for 3-4 months, and it's manageable because the summer's so slow. I just hope Meek got some sort of compensation in this interim and for having to double dip, and to have to touch that school with a 10 foot pole.

Krais, Kynard Win National Championships

Ryann Krais dominated the women's heptathlon, while Erik Kynard cleared 7'6" to take the title in the high jump. Congratulations to Ryann and Erik!

Tay Bender Highlights

Class of 2012 commit. A lot to be excited about right now and count me as one of the many who cannot wait to see Sams suit up whether it be this year or next. But man, this kid looks impressive.
