Ben Kay Driver (b. Sept. 22, 2000) is a preferred walk-on defensive back and special teamer out of Salina High School Central who redshirted in 2019 and is majoring in life sciences.
In 2020, he played on special teams during K-State’s win at No. 3 Oklahoma, and also against Texas Tech and Texas, earning first-team Academic All-Big 12 postseason accolades.
A four-year letter-winner at Salina Central under head coaches Mike Hall and Mark Sandbo, Driver led the Mustangs to a 7-3 record as a senior after not playing during an 0-9 campaign as a junior due to a broken jaw.
He earned first-team all-state honors as a senior from The Wichita Eagle and the Kansas Football Coaches Association, while he was a second-team selection by USA TODAY Sports and an honorable mention pick by The Topeka Capital-Journal.
Driver carded 100 tackles, six tackles for loss and six interceptions in 2018; hauled in 20 passes for 392 yards and four scores on offense; and also lettered four years in basketball.
