NOTE: Kansas State has elected to advance players’ classification even though the 2020 season did not affect eligibility. Those who wish to take advantage of this extra year will be listed as a (“super”) senior again after their original eligibility would have been exhausted.
#54 Kienen Gaskin
Redshirt Freshman | 5-10 | 207 lbs. | Lee’s Summit, Missouri
- Position: Linebacker
- Previous College: None
- Projection: Scout Team
- Status: Preferred Walk-On
Kienen Gaskin (b. March 14, 2002) is a preferred walk-on linebacker from Lee’s Summit High School North in Missouri who redshirted and did not see any game action in 2020.
He is majoring in business administration and was a high school teammate of former KSU running back Keyon Mozee, who elected earlier this summer to transfer to Miami (Ohio).
A three-year starter at Lee’s Summit North under head coach Jamar Mozee (who I presume is Keyon’s father), Gaskin was a three-time all-conference selection and was named to the all-district team on two occasions.
He totaled 328 tackles in his prep career, including 141 as a junior to rank second in the state and came away with 30 tackles for loss and five sacks during his three seasons.
Gaskin chose walking on at K-State over scholarship offers from Central Michigan, Missouri State and Western Illinois, plus interest from Iowa State, Kansas and South Dakota State.
